Was JD Too Embarassed To Return To Work Once Janet's 'Feedback' Album/Tour Bombed??

Jermaine Dupri
has released his take on Def Jam handing him his pink slip. And now an
'anonymous' source at Def Jam is painting the mogul as nothing more
than an embarrassed ego mania, who was to shamed to return back to work
once his girlfriend Janet Jackson's last album and tour bombed.
According to Page Six:
"After [his girlfriend] Janet Jackson's
album and tour bombed, he basically didn't come back to work. He still
collected a paycheck, but didn't bother to do anything that he was
supposed to do, like find artists, release records or actually show up.
Executives tried to talk to him, but he just lost heart." Dupri was
widely blamed for Jackson's album flop as he insisted on letting her
get her way on song selection and production of the release,
"Discipline."
The spy adds, "Very few producers have turned into good executives,
with the exception of Dr. Dre." A rep for Dupri's boss, Island/Def Jam
head L.A. Reid, declined to comment.
Out of all the of unsubstantiated gossip stories out there, I believe every word of this. Sounds like the JD we know, right?
It's OK Jermaine, it happens. Like I always say: "Go Hard or Go Home."
Let's hope Proctor & Gamble doesn't lose faith in Dupri's vision for their new TAG records company.
Talk to y'all lata,
G.

Oh shit...Proctor & Gamble is the company behind Tag Records???? That little tidbit I did not know and I have stock in Proctor & Gamble. I should be shamed of myself...But you know what???? I need to be a fucking exec at Def Jam if it's like that....First of all, who in the world besides Gyant thought that Janet was able to still sell records???? I first said back when she collabed with Busta that she needed to do that cause she can't do shit on her own anymore...And history has showed that I was right... I keep telling everyone that I was as big as a die hard Janet fan as the next person.....But her last certified album that was worth buying was "Velvet Rope". That was her last soulful album...It's like after that album, they tried to re-vamp her image to be more sexy and all this B.S., which she didn't need it and was not the problem.....Then to top it off, she stopped all the soulful type songs which we loved her for and tried to take on more of a Mariah Carey approach, and then just recently with the "20 Y.O" album her management made her take the Britney Spears approach which basically was Poppish and "Just looking sexy and tyring to hared to sound sexy"...On "Feedback", which was lame, she was trying hard as hell to sound sexy. I didn't even consider that as singing.... And when I very first heard it, my mouth dropped, cause that was not nearly the Janet that we know and grown to love...And nobody wants to see her old ass wearing MC Hammer pants and dancing around and shit...She has clearly lost a step or 2 and just looks plain stupid trying to keep up with the likes of CiCi and Bey Bey...Simply put, If JD thought just cause he was working on Janet's album that it would of did Mariah Carey's numbers then, anyone with a fucking heart and ear for R&B soul could of been the the Pres ove at Def Jam....That was one of the many worst decicions made at the NEW Island Def Jam

And to the above poster, J.D. did only 2 songs on Janet most recent album. Also, Janet have always done pop songs. Hell, she one of the most diverse artist out there. And if you were a Janet fan you would know that.
