*Update/ Def Jam Out To Sabotage Ludacris, Retail Stores In Short Supply of 'T.O.T.M.'

Rumor has it that Ludacris and the heads at DTP are NOT happy that the top seller's new album Theater of The Mind isn't getting its proper promotion. I hear that the DTP heads stormed into the NYC Def Jam offices furious that many of the retail stores are in insufficient supply of his new album.
Sources are saying that DTP's ADR team reported that many retail stores weren't even informed that Luda's album dropped today, but Kanye's album was up on every shelf.
It's no secret that Luda's new album doesn't have high expectations given the current state of the economy and the lack of proper promotion.

Update:
I have a hip-hop store in Central Oregon (5 months) and was formerly in Tacoma for 3 1/2 years...
I don't think it's so much sabatoge, as opposed to no service for anyone...I hardly get posters, flyers, promo copies or anything and I always request it..
The labels are cuttin back and thats just how it is!

That's bullshit. I get tired of these weak ass stories talking about somebody didn't ship enough on purpose. Why the fuck is the label going to do something to potentially lose money when they are struggling during these economic times just as bad as the auto industry and the banks and everybody else? Get the fuck out of here.
And if there's a difference between Luda and Kanye's promotion it's because Luda is a HIP-HOP artist and Kanye is a POP artist. There is a difference.
Ludacris spent all his album promo money on dye for his hair.
I'm cosigning what Enlightened said...It's not in Def Jam's or any record company interest to cut out their own legs so to speak. Luda is not projected to sell as much the opening week anyway. Kanye has proven in his last 2 albums, that his units sold in the first week, increases each time. Now, not to say that, it's definately going to happen this time around, but track records don't lie. And I would give Kanye the benefit of the doubt to almost sell A Milli in the first week. Luda is not even going to push over 250k in his 1st week, I guarentee that... Nobody is checking for dude especially with the economy how it is now.. In fact, I think this is wear Luda's album sales will start to decline and he probably won't even go platinum or just barely go platinum this time around... Luda, it may be time for you to give it up and focus on acting...This is Real Talk. Nobody, especially street niggas, and even girls in the hood aint talkib bout coppin dis album. He migh get a few college kids, but other then that...It's a Wrap for rap..Luda and Nelly are in the same boat cause the streets only talk about spending their hard earned $$$ on Wayne', TI, or Jeezy's albumn. Those 3 names will remain the talk of the streets for the next few years or so.

I can see T.I. and Jeezy's name staying in the streets, but come on homie, Lil Weezy is a T-pain dickriding little bitch, and homie sound and look like a UP NORTH rapper. Aint no denying what Luda has done cuz Luda has SOLD MORE than all three of those rappers you named COMBINDED. He also got way more hits than each of them. Ludacris is a worldwide, nationwide star that anyone recognized. The three you named only in the streets for the most part.

@Swill.......Did you forget that the streets dictate if you are going to have longevity in this game or not.....It's no coincedence that if your shit comes to a complete halt in the street, that you will fall off.You can be a bubble gum rapper all sell a few milli combined on your first couple albums or not, but the streets is the primary factor if you will last in the industry or not...Case in point:: Chingy, Peety Pablo, Nelly, Young Joc, Mims. The list goes on, but I digress..

first couple albums? Luda has went multiplatinum for five str8 albums. TI and Jeezy never even been that, and Wayne just now did it. The streets only partially dictate sales or longevity. But the main influence is RADIO and if they play your shit or not. Up until now, Luda been one of the most played artists in radio. Shit like What Them Girls or One More Drink would have shot to number one usually.
Jeezy ain't even doin that well, he gettin ready to fall off. And the only reason Wayne and especially TI doin well is cuz radio playin their joints to death. Just last yr, TI aint do shit but now he get all the support from radio cuz he goin to jail.
Anyway all them gonna fall off.
