Beyonce & Team Accused Of Stealing "If I Were A Boy"

Posted on October 14, 2008 2:00 PM

OK, now I'm starting to think that Beyonce isn't as talented as we may have thought. Just a few short days after Bey dropped both her two new new singles. "If I Were A Boy" and "Single Ladies [Put A Ring On It]" the music seems to be riddled with scandal.

It looks like Beyonce will not be apart of the Grammy's this year since both her singles missed the September 30th deadline. But the reasons behind the missed deadline are emerging.

There's a new report online that suggest that Beyonce may have stolen yet another song without the artists permission and has been held up in a legal battle. Apparently the young woman who originally recorded the melody and lyrics for "If I Were a Boy" had no idea Beyonce had even recorded the song until a stranger called with the news. By then, it was too late.

The artist who co-wrote and performed the song, is
BC Jean and she's a new  21 year-old singer/songwriter from San Diego

She and her manager/mother, Lori Carlson, have been allegedly strong-armed by Beyonce's people and others who saw gold in "If I Were a Boy" and didn't care how they got it.

You can listen to the original version here.

Carlson told me she couldn't comment on the situation, but plenty of people knew the saga of Beyonce's legendary manager/father Mathew Knowles' aggressive pursuit of the publishing rights to the potential hit record. His goal was to get the rights to the song and to put Beyonce's name on the writing credits.

How the hell is Beyonce going to want writing credits on a song that she didn't right? She tried that BS with "Listen" and even tried to get a Golden Globe credit out of it, but they weren't having it and shut her down.

The Carlsons are rumored to have recently come to terms with Beyonce.

Part of the deal is that the two singers will duet on BC Jean's debut album once she gets her own recording deal. And as a result managers, publishers and A&R people from all over the industry are falling over themselves trying to sign BC Jean.

This information isn't shocking me one bit. I've been finding out a lot about Beyonce these past few weeks and she's not the "good girl" that she tries to present to the world.

I guess there's a little devil in us all --even the supposed Christians.

Serves her right for missing out on an oppurtunity to get a Grammy over her alleged trickery.

Shame on you Bey.
