I have to question Terrance's real intentions and purposes behind this book. Closeted gays are nothing new in entertainment nor are they limited to just the hiphop industry. But people's fascination with the overly masculine black male that hiphop often represents makes accusations of down low activity a hot commodity. Anyone who has had ANY affiliation with the black gay community knows that it is virtually the ultimate desire of many gay black men to be able to sleep with the straight acting overly masculine male. Now I'm not denying that there are probably a lot of homos in hiphop but I can't help but wonder how much of this "down low" phenomenon is a sensational spinoff of a very popular and intrguing rumor.

I totally agree that homosexuality needs to be addressed in the black community, but to me it seems that people like Terrance Dean and Wendy Williams are just exploiting an over exagerrated fantasy for personal gain and notariety and aren't really helping to address the issue in a resposible results producing way. They actually are instilling additional fears and are drinving others further into the closet.

This whole thing has been blown up to be bigger than it is. It's really pathetic how so many people are obsessed with the sexuality of other people, meanwhile many guys on this site and others that are so damn paranoid about anyone thinking they might be gay that they have to quantify every statement with "no homo" even if it's something as simple as giving another man a compliment. You have fans that feel any rapper that doesn't make stupid gangster music is gay. What they fail to realize is some of these gangster rappers are really putting on a front to give the perception of being straight and the fans buy into it suddenly thinking they can identify who is gay or straight by listening to the music and watching videos.

The throw in the constant homoerotic insults that people on hip hop blogs toss back and forth to each other and it really makes you think. You can pick damn near any blog on this site and just read the comments, it's insane that all the insults are completely homoerotic.

It MUST be pointed out that ALL of the examples of celebs who have come out were WHITE. There would be a huge difference in reaction if these were black men.

50% of new H.I.V. cases are in the black community. The prison sytem is about classism (who has money for lawyers and who dont). So we as a people can wrightfully argue that. Exposing the behavior of the DL in the Hip Hop community. I don't see what’s wrong with the topic. The Black community doesn't need to except the degenerative gay culture the same as other degenerative culture. We pride ourselves for have general common sense when reguarding gender and nature order. When you break it down what does homosexuality promote: Gender identity confusion, ideal disorder of the basic fundementals of natural order and selection, cowardness in men, etc. Gays doing belong in any occuptaion thats considered masculine ranging from being and rapper or serving in the millitary. I have personaly seen how unmasculine and disconnected homo-guys are. The way they carry and conduct themselves is pittyful.
